Tattoo in june

One of the greate days this summer was the Tattoo at my home town. I joined one of the first years since it started. This summer was the 50 years anniversary. With the founder watching and many of the earlier musicians draming of old times, tours and tattoos. Even with Royal Guardsman (Hans Majestet Kongens Garde) in Norway. The music, rythm, precision, companionship and fun. I'll let you join by watching;

Endelig damask

Damask er en fasinerende vevteknikk. Endelig har jeg kommet til å veve på en løper. Starter ikke smått her i gården. Jeg fant et stråmønster som ble omdannet litt for å passe inn på 9 ruter i spiss (med vending). Med blåfiolett lintråd satt jeg igang. Den som venter på noe godt kan vente lenge. Rute på rute bygget seg videre 6 tråder om gangen. Og etterhvert kunne jeg skimte motivet. Med en sommerfugl på midten tenker jeg å fortsette på resten så løperen kan bli ferdig. Bildet viser bare overst på stråene.

The lovely month of May

All the colors, flowers and sunlight these days gets me so inspired. I pick up some old crafts and even saw a tattersgroup started in april. So these days I am planting and working with the soil, my new project in the loom, damast, and tatting. Besides smelling flowers and "soaking" in sunrays. I share the looks of the lilac we passed sunday while three generations were out strolling and taking photos.

A marvel of a shawl

A good friend of mine offered me yarn from South America. I believe it is lama. And I've wondered what to make of it. Now I have made a marvellous and warm shawl in pinecone pattern. The hook is a nr 6 and the whole shawl weights 250 grams and is 150 cm wide.

Beautifull May

Spring has been mild and warm this year. The birches and other trees around my house has tiny small leaves on the branches. It is a beautiful part of the year. I love all the four seasons. But don't like to shovel heavy snow, though.
Daffodils, the blue starry ones and pearly in blue (do not know the names), primroses and even the weeds. All surprises us until I weed out the ones I do not want in my garden. All the summer and the autumn we will meet new flowers and I love all the colors.

This week my daughter will end her project and take her exam to be an ingeniour to prevent fire. I hope the best for her and wish her a good and save job.
Otherwise my days are filled with work in different threads. Weaving, knitting and plans for tatting and tapestry weaving. The tapestry in black and copper on this blog is my own work. inspired of the biometric system on airports.
Being without work for the time being do not make me idle. But pain in my sholders gives me some limits. My interest in crafts led me to Ravelry. There I found a great network for lots of crafts. And the groups are so fantastic to follow.

Mye gjort, men lite på bloggen

Det har vært god tid med veving sammen med husflidens vevring. En gave til min kjære som snart har dagen sin. Den ble klar til påsken og før innrykk av min kjære lille familie. Datter og barnebarn i huset sammen med min kjære og meg. Det ble et lite påske-eggverksted også. Vi blåste opp små partybalonger og limte på strimler av tapetlim. Noen ble tynne og andre tykkere. Noen lag skulle vært nok. Vi lot de tørke til neste dag. Så stakk jeg hull på balongen gjennom papirmasjeen og lot det tørke en dag til . Da skar vi opp med en skarp kniv. Kakket liksom av toppen. Andre langs men i zigzak. Det ble krokodilleegg av de. Disse ble malt og ble riktig festlige. Noen foto kommer etterhvert. Men da var påsken over og godteriet spist opp imens. Gledelig påske.
